The 4X (Dollar Shave Club) Review

What's up guys!? I ordered my first set from Dollar Shave Club about a month back and let the good people of Facebook know that I'd post my impressions. For those who are unaware of the company or what they offer, look no further (...other than the next line): Founded in 2011, Dollar Shave Club ships amazing razors and world-class grooming products for just a few bucks. Their mission is to help their members build a better bathroom for less money, in less time. So, here we are! The 4X:

The set is the $6/ month option available at dollarshaveclub.com. The 4X is defined as a more advanced all around shaver that gets right down to business. Gets busy it does!!! Now, this is my third swipe and I can tell you the razor lives up to the assertions. The handle itself holds some weight to it, making it comfortable in hand. On top of that, the ergonomics are bar-none some of the nicest on a razor, in my opinion. There is a distinctive bend toward the bottom end of the handle which seems out of place intially, but it allows you to grip the razor decisively while hitting that hard to reach stubble.

As you can see above, it comes with 4 extra blade heads. In all honesty, I roll into Rick Ross territory more often then not because of my laziness. When I first received the set, I had the Allan Parish hoppin' out of Jumanji...So, I used the trial tube of Shave Butter (very nice, if, you're willing to pay) and started hacking at the frontlines. To my surprise, I was actually able to cut down the shrubs in less than 15 minutes! Fast-forawrd to this morning >>>> I've FINALLY switched to a new blade head just for this review. This shave took less than 10 minutes:

The smile says it all!!! Now, the subscription is fairly damn foolproof. You can order your set and have it replinshed monthly, bi-monthly or you cancel at anytime and pick it right back up when you need more! I am opting for the latter because of my non-frequent shaving tendencies. For those of you who purchase Shick, Gilette, etc.. I certainly recommend it. If not for anything, you can erase a trivial, easily forgettable (yet necessary) item from your shopping list. Besides, one entire set from Dollarshaveclub.com costs less than a cartidge refill from your store of choice.

Score: 10/10

PS - they have TONS of other products on their site. Browse through it and see if there's something to help tame your mane.
